Oops! forgot to take a photo for August 4th. This action shot from the 5th shows me welding up the steel floor joists that will span the center area between the wheel wells, which will become a 'long storage' compartment, capable of accepting 12 foot ladders, etc.

Like Wilson from TV's Home Improvement, my face is discreetly covered by the welding hood.

Took the day off, August 6th, to go to the
Oregon Dunes for some recreation.

Maybe this should be called 'Photo-every-other-Day' (I'm just trying to save film in the digital camera). August 7th & 8th. Laid out materials, took measurements, drew final plans for the rear steps and welded in some support material.

Not shown in this view is the 60 foot dead cedar tree I limbed up and prepared to use as a support pole for my wind generator.

August 9, 10, 11th. The last three day's work
was many hours on the chop saw, bench
grinder, band saw, drill press, and welder,
fabricating additional steel joists to finish off
the long storage area framing.

August 12th through 15th, many hours went into assembling the framework and attaching it to the original bus floor.

Steel joists span the distance between the frame rails over the 'long storage' area and above the wheel wells, while wooden I-beams add diagonal bracing.

August 16th. Don't be too impressed, the insulation and vapor barrier are still to be installed and a couple of hundred screws driven into place to hold the sub floor plywood down.
